Born in Southampton Co. Mrs. King was a graduate of Longwood College and taught in the Isle of Wight Co. School System. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the Pansy Johnson Missionary Circle, the Woman's Club of Smithfield, the Col. William Allen Chapter of the Daughters of the Confederacy of Smithfield, and the Senior Citizens at Nike Recreation Park. Survivors include her husband Lloyd Nathaniel King of Rescue, Va.; one daughter Ms. Mary Anne Barrett of Poquoson, Va.; two sons, Lloyd Nathan King, Jr. of Rescue, Va., Gary G. King of Smithfield, Va.; ten grandchildren, and one great- granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity United Methodist Church, Smithfield with the Rev. Robert F. Cofield, Jr. officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. at the Courtland Methodist Church Cemetery, Courtland, Va. The family will receive friends at the King residence, Rescue and suggests memorial donations may be made to the Isle of Wight County Parks and Recreation, Senior Services Center, Rt. 2 Box 4, Carrollton, Va. 23314 or The Isle of Wight County Rescue Squad in Smithfield. Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield is in charge of arrangements.
